| Description | : | Died in France during WWI Paul Struve went to France on a transport ship and died shortly after arriving. He was not in battle, and family thinks he contracted pneumonia. He left his young wife Emma, whom he had married a few months before leaving Davenport. Struve was buried at first in France. But his mother Anna Struve, moved heaven and earth to bring her sons body home. His body was returned to the states then to Clinton .
