Aders, last Sunday afternoon. He lived to the ripe old age of eighty-three and retained unusual health both in body and mind until within a few weeks of his death. He is survived by four sons, Francis, John W., and Abraham of Bristow, and Jacob of Evansville, and two daughters Mrs. Sara Walls of Eckerty and Mrs. Rebecca Gelardin of Tell City. His wife preceded him in death over thirty years ago. Two daughters, Mrs. Martha Cassidy adn Mrs. Rhoda Hayes died some years ago. Rev. Wm Lanman of Gentryville, conducted the funeral service at the Regular Baptist church of which uncle Sam was a devout member, on Monday afternoon, and his remains were laid to rest in the old home cemetery. Thus we chronicle the passing of a man who will be greatly missed in our community, one of whom it can be remembered that he spoke "only good" of every one and his family can have the consolation of knowing that his will be a pleasant memory. And is not the poet right when he says "To live in hearts we leave behind is not to die?"
