Occupation: Farmer. =============================== OBITUARY - Plain Dealer, Wabash (IN) - July 29, 1892 Tim Craft Sr., was stricken with paralysis at his home two miles west of the city Friday morning about 9:30 o'clock. His right side only was affected at the time and the family physician, Dr. P.G. Moore, was summoned, but he had little hopes of benefiting him from the first, and some time during the night or early Saturday morning his entire body was paralyzed and he died at 4 o'clock Saturday evening. Timothy Craaft was born in Greene County, Ohio January 10, 1819. When quite young he moved to Tiffin, Seneca County, Ohio where he learned the tailor trade. He moved to Indiana in the year 1842 coming direct to Wabash and engaged in the merchant tailoring business with Mr. McKay on the site where Arch Stitt's restaurant now is. He was very successful in the busienss. In the year 1863 he sold his store to Richard Miles, and purchased the old Tate farm adjoining the farm on which he had lived so long. Being a thorough businessman Mr. Craft managed his farm successfully and amassed a comfortable fortune. About the year 1850 Mr. Craft was married to Miss Sarah Smith, sister of the late Allen Smith. A large family of children was born of this union, of whom but five are living, as follows: Mrs. Lillie Jackson, of Galesburg, Illk., Pettit Craft, Mrs. William Lutz, Mrs. Charles Coppick and Mrs. Frank Rohrig. Mr. Craft first showed signs of failing health two years ago and he moved intot he city thinking the change might be beneficial to him. He remained here but a few months when he returned to the farm. He continued to grow weaker and weaker until finally his constitution gave way entirely under the stroke of paralysis as stated. Mr. Craft was a man of considerable means, owning 210 acrees of valuable land near the city -- 143 acres in the home farm and sixty seven acres almost within the city limits. He also owned a piece of property on the south side. Mr. Craft is an old and respected citizen of Wabash, and his numerous friends will learn with sorrow of his death. The funeral occurred at the late residence of the deceased, two miles west of the city, at 3 o'clock Tuesday afternoon, with Rev. Charles Little officiating. #Burial at Falls Cemetery.
