Description	:	Highland Recorder February 28, 1919 URIAH WAGNER DEAD Highland lost another of her few surviving Confederate Veterans this week in the person of Uriah Wagner, who passed away at his home four miles north of town last Monday morning. Read More	Highland Recorder February 28, 1919 URIAH WAGNER DEAD Highland lost another of her few surviving Confederate Veterans this week in the person of Uriah Wagner, who passed away at his home four miles north of town last Monday morning. About ten days ago Mr. Wagner was partially paralyzed while going from town to his home, being stricken while at the home of Polk Eye where he had called on the way. He was gotten home the same day, but never fully rallied from the stroke. Deceased was among the younger of the Civil War Veterans and saw service between 1864 and 1865, Company D, 20th, according to the roster found in the county history. Mr. Wagner was a farmer and most of his life was spent in the section where death found him. He was a typical "son of- the soil", a hard worker and recognized as honorable and upright in his dealings with men. He is survived by his wife and five children, two boys and three girls. Interment was in the family burying-place, Tuesday, 11 o'clock, services being conducted by Rev. J. 0. Thrasher.
