Fellows – William Wallace Fellows was born at Cambria, N. Y., May 21, 1846 and his body and spirit separated at his home in Geneva at 7:30 p. m. March 12, 1914, at the ripe age of 67 years, 10 months and 9 days. Mr. Fellows enlisted in the civil war at the age of eighteen, becoming a member of the Second New York Mounted rifles. He was discharged August 10, 1865, having served his country for one year and nine months at the time of her greatest need. Mr. Fellows was married to Melinda Carson June 14, 1878, at Bronson, Mich., where he went after the war to join his parents, who had moved west during the war. To this union were born two sons, Theodore Irvin of Haynes, N. D. and Hallie Eugene of Omaha. He leaves to mourn the separation of a loved one, his wife, two sons, two grandchildren, one brother, one sister, many distant relatives and a host of friends. His brother Gibson lives at Bancroft, Mich., and his sister, Elizabeth Lambert, at Niagara Falls, N. Y. With his wife and son Mr. Fellows moved from Bronson, Mich., to Fillmore county, Nebraska. In the spring of 1885. The following September he moved to York county, where he remained until 1889, when the family moved back to Geneva, residing here since. He united with the Christian church in 1896. He was faithful in his church work and was a member of the church board for many years. He worked for the Geneva Nursery Co. for twenty-two years and could always be depended upon as interested in the work he undertook to do. Mr. Fellows was a member of the G. A. R. since he came to Geneva and was always at his post. He was also a member of the A. O. U. W., having belonged to the Geneva lodge for many years. He had lived in this, his present home for twenty-five years. He was a faithful husband, a loving father, a kind neighbor, a good citizen and to know him was to admire him. He was a patient sufferer for fifteen months but was always hopeful, thinking something might be done to relieve him of his suffering, but his frail body was too weak to throw off the dreaded disease, rheumatism, and he departed to be forever with his Lord. Funeral services were held at the Christian church Saturday afternoon at 2:30, conducted by Rev. D. G. Wagner, his former pastor. The G. A. R. funeral rites were preformed at the grave. Interment was in the Geneva cemetery. --------------------------------------------------- Served with Co.
