Description	:	Quimby Powell Shaw, 72, a lifetime resident of the Wenatchee Valley, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 2, 2007, following an extended illness. Quimby was born May 2, 1935, in Mt. Pleasant, AR, to Quimby Porter and Clemmie Vernell Shirley Shaw. Read More	Quimby Powell Shaw, 72, a lifetime resident of the Wenatchee Valley, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 2, 2007, following an extended illness. Quimby was born May 2, 1935, in Mt. Pleasant, AR, to Quimby Porter and Clemmie Vernell Shirley Shaw. He moved with his family to the Greater Wenatchee Area in 1944; living in Orondo, Wenatchee, and East Wenatchee. He worked hard throughout his life as a bellboy at the Columbia and Cascadian Hotels; a policeman for the City of Wenatchee for 25 years, and a fence builder as the owner of Quimby P. Shaw Fence Company -- building hundreds of fences throughout the valley and around Washington State. He served his country in the U.S. Navy as a Signalman First Class from approximately 1954 to 1958. During his tour, he experienced many places including Hawaii, Japan, Korea, Alaska and New York. He received his diploma from Eastmont High School in 1960. He married Patricia Ann Howard in 1960, and had two sons, Quimby Price Shaw and David Powell Shaw. Their marriage ended in divorce in 1986. In October, 2006, he married Donna L. Brunz. He was a lifetime member of the Wenatchee Gun Club and enjoyed shooting and hunting, which he shared with his children. He was very well known in the community and loved to talk and share stories with people. He is survived by his wife, Donna Brunz-Shaw from East Wenatchee; two sons from his first marriage, Quimby Price Shaw of Wenatchee and David Powell Shaw of Wenatchee; two grandsons, Randy Shaw and Zachary Johnson; a granddaughter, Alexis Taylor Shaw; Krystal McKinney, whom he loved as a granddaughter; his three brothers, Donald Ray Shaw of Lake Stevens, WA, Darrel Porter Shaw of East Wenatchee, WA and Ronald Gene Shaw of San Jose, CA; and two sisters, Shirley Vernell Shaw of Wenatchee, WA and Charlotte Anne Upchirch of Pataskola, OH. Graveside Service will be held at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, September 8, 2007, at Evergreen Memorial Park. The casket will remain closed at all times. Arrangements are by Telford's Chapel of the Valley, East Wenatchee.
