Description	:	ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. --- Rachael Goodwin, 87, formerly of Highland Park, Ill., died April 3, 2002, at an Arlington Heights hospital. Mrs. Goodwin was a journalist and worked for a small town newspaper in the early 1940s. She also was a vocalist and performed duets with her sister on radio programs in the 1930s. She was born April 26, 1914, in Fairview, Kan. She earned a bachelor's degree in journalism at Kansas State University in 1938. Read More	ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. --- Rachael Goodwin, 87, formerly of Highland Park, Ill., died April 3, 2002, at an Arlington Heights hospital. Mrs. Goodwin was a journalist and worked for a small town newspaper in the early 1940s. She also was a vocalist and performed duets with her sister on radio programs in the 1930s. She was born April 26, 1914, in Fairview, Kan. She earned a bachelor's degree in journalism at Kansas State University in 1938. Mrs. Goodwin was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church at Highland Park and St. Peter Lutheran Church in Arlington Heights. She judged flower shows throughout the Midwest and was a member of the Flower Show Judges of America and the National Garden Clubs. She married Stanley Goodwin on June 24, 1939. He survives. Other survivors include a son, Richard Goodwin; a daughter, Suzanne Goff; and three grandchildren. Services were April 5 at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Arlington Heights. Inurnment will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Mount Hope Cemetery in Hiawatha, Kan. Memorial contributions may be made to the Lutheran Home and Service for the Aged, 800 W.
