Following is the obituary which was read at the services: Rachel Anna Alexander-Johnson Rachel Anna Alexander, daughter of John and Hannah Alexander, was born in Steubenville, Ohio, Feb. 14, 1849 and departed this life at her home in Corydon May 25, 1924 at the age of 75 years, 3 months and 11 days. She was untied in marriage to Samuel Johnson on January 29, 1879, who passed away January 21, 1916. To this union seven children were born, two passing away in infancy. The remaining ones are Mrs. Alice Cook of Corydon, Mrs. Nora Reed of Yuma, Colo., C. C. Johnson of Allerton and E. E. and Tommy of Corydon and ten grand-children besides a host of relatives and friends who mourn her departure. Mrs. And Mrs. Johnson were among the early settlers suffering the hardships of the pioneers. She was of a quiet retiring disposition and kindly disposed toward every one, a kind and loving mother. In her early life she was united with the Presbyterian church and lived a consistent Christian life. The day previous to her death she sang a verse of "Anywhere with Jesus" and talked of going home.
