Woods, and aged resident of the Mill Gap section of Back Creek, died at the home of her son, J. H. Woods, at an early hour Tuesday morning. She had been ill for several months, an attack of pneumonia early in the winter resulting in complications. Woods, and aged resident of the Mill Gap section of Back Creek, died at the home of her son, J. H. Woods, at an early hour Tuesday morning. Mrs. Woods was about 72 years of age and the widow of Peter Woods whose death occurred in April, 1913. Of the children surviving, three of them all live in the Mill Gap community. They are Mrs. Robert Wiley, Mrs. Mattie Townsend, and J. H. Woods with whom she made her home. Mrs. Woods was a consistent member of the M. E. church, and a lady held in high esteem by neighbors and friends. Funeral services were conducted at Green Hill church Wednesday morning by her pastor, Rev. C. B. Rutledge, after which interment took place in the near-by cemetery. Highland Recorder March 23, 1917 The gentle spirit of our dear friend, Mrs. Peter Woods, entered into rest on the morning of the 13th day of March, 1917, having been in unusually poor health for some months. She leaves to mourn her loss one son, two daughters, and friends that cannot be numbered.
