Description	:	Rachel Bessie Frans Wright, 95, of Westfield, passed peacefully away, July 17, 2021, at Hinkle Hospice House. Born June 1, 1926, she was the daughter of Robert and Bessie Jessup Frans. She leaves behind to cherish a multitude of memories, her daughter and son-in-law, Donna W. (Bobby) Wood; a sister and brother-in-law, Jackie F. (Wayne) Nester; four grandchildren: Nicholas (Ashley) Wood, Stephanie (David) Wilkins, Meredith Chilton and fiancée, Chris, Eric (Brandy) Chilton; eight great-grandchildren: Cadence Wilkins, Caylee Wilkins, Charlotte Wilkins, Wyatt Wood, Lakyn Wood, Trae Flippen, Regan Chilton, Devlyn Chilton; and a special great-niece, Leigh (Brad) Gilliam. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Kenneth Wright; a daughter, Deborah Chilton; a grandchild, Jordan Wood; a brother, Robert Frans; and three sisters: Eloise F. Fowler, Ruth F. Terry, and Annie Lou F. Moore. Growing up on a farm with a large family taught Rachel the value of responsibility and caring for family. She lived life just as she learned, and as a young widow of thirty-two, raised her family, worked the farm and various other jobs, and always provided for her children. She was a life-long member of Westfield Baptist Church and attended regularly as long as her health permitted. A tiny but fierce individual, she approached life with determination. She was well known as a great cook and loved preparing meals for her family. She loved all sports, especially the Atlanta Braves and ACC basketball. Her gentle nature and devotion to her church and family will be forever cherished and deeply missed. A graveside service will be held Tuesday, July 20, 2021, at 12:00 PM at Westfield Baptist Church. The family will receive friends after the service. Dr. Charles Howell and Rachel's cousin, Dale Riddle, will be officiating. The family wishes to express their deep appreciation to the staff at Hinkle Hospice House for their compassion and care of Mrs. Wright. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Westfield Baptist Church: 6713 Westfield Road, Westfield, NC 27053, or to Hinkle Hospice House: 200 Hospice Way, Lexington, NC 27292.
