Description	:	Rachel was the daughter of Thomas K. Ford and Sarah Harris. Her mother died sometime in the 1880s. Her father, Thomas K. Ford, was born August 1823 (per the 1900 census) and died 16 April 1904 (recorded in a business journal by Jonathan Murray Barron, father of Rachel's son-in-law Thomas Richard Barron) in Washington County, Tennessee. She married Jonathan I. A. W. Archer on 26 January 1871 in Washington County, Tennessee. Read More	Rachel was the daughter of Thomas K. Ford and Sarah Harris. Her mother died sometime in the 1880s. Her father, Thomas K. Ford, was born August 1823 (per the 1900 census) and died 16 April 1904 (recorded in a business journal by Jonathan Murray Barron, father of Rachel's son-in-law Thomas Richard Barron) in Washington County, Tennessee. She married Jonathan I. A. W. Archer on 26 January 1871 in Washington County, Tennessee. Rachel gave birth to her two children in Washington County, Tennessee, then left for Benton County, Arkansas in the early 1880s with her husband Jonathan Archer. Jonathan died in 1885, and she returned to Washington County, Tennessee, marrying James Emulus Taylor on 31 December 1885. Rachel moved with her second husband Jim Taylor to Starbuck, Washington sometime between 1912 and 1914 after several trips back and forth on the train between Washington and Tennessee. She then moved with her daughter Sarah and her family in 1916 to Valier, Montana to join her son Jesse Archer and his family to homestead. The families went bust in Valier in 1923 and returned to the Steptoe area. Her son Jesse Archer and his family continued on to Colfax, but Rachel and Jim stayed in Steptoe, Washington for many years. After Rachel died, Jim left the place in Steptoe and went to live with a local Steptoe family as a boarder until his death in 1943. I was told by a relative who lived in Gray, Washington County, Tennessee who shares the same Ford lineage that the gravestones of Thomas Ford and his wife Sarah Harris had been destroyed by farmers letting their cattle graze in the cemetery. The remains of the cemetery was in a copse of trees on a farm outside of Gray.
