Description	:	Rachel Etta Zinn was born at Zanesville, Ohio, April 12, 1850 and died at the home of her daughter Mrs. Ola L. Prince at Guthrie, Okla., on July 20, 1941, at the age of 90 years. Read More	Rachel Etta Zinn was born at Zanesville, Ohio, April 12, 1850 and died at the home of her daughter Mrs. Ola L. Prince at Guthrie, Okla., on July 20, 1941, at the age of 90 years. At an early age she came west with her parents and located in eastern Kansas. Later the family moved to Centerville, Iowa, where most of her youth was spent. In 1872 she was married to Wm. B. Logan. To this union eight children were born. Their devotion to their children included first of all Christian training in the home. They established the family altar which was maintained throughout their life together. While Christian education came first for their children, Mr. and Mrs. Logan did not neglect the circular educational needs, for even in those days every one of their children received a high school education. When Mr. and Mrs. Logan moved to Wayne County and located near Harvard in 1877,where they lived for 41 years, there were no schools or churches in the community. But they were active in helping to organize and build the first church in the community which was a Methodist Church. They also helped to build the first school house in that locality. Mrs. Logan's influence in training her children was of such a nature that it resulted in the establishment of a family tie which has continued through the years. For even though all the children now living have homes of their own and reside each one in a different state, at the present time, this family tie is perpetuated by the family letter each month which was instituted by the family altar. Besides her faithful devotion to her own family, Mrs. Logan was always ready to minister to a sick neighbor or help someone in need. Her greatest enjoyment in life was found in reading the scriptures, which she did every day; and the greatest aim of he life was to follow its teachings. We feel that the reward for such high Christian motives was manifested in her beautiful passing from this life to the future one with a peace and confidence in God which surpass words of expression. Her husband Wm. B. Logan, her son Edgar and her daughter Rena preceded her in death. The surviving members of the family are: Ola L. Prince, of Guthrie, Okla; Hallie Krouse of Anamosa, Ia; C. C. Logan of Modoc, Kan; Cora. E. Logan of Tarrington, Wyo.; Roy Logan of Powell, S. D.; and Lester Logan of Los Angeles, Calif; a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Ida Coates Logan, of Lineville, and a son-in-law Charley W. Smith of Corydon, Ia. There are 17 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren and a host of friends and other relatives who will miss her Christian influence.
