Sister of Peter Helphrey of this City Died in Des Moines -- Had Lived Here Many Years. After a kindly, useful life, Rachel Kincebach, left this world for the one beyond last Wednesday, Feb. 24, 1915. Had she lived until April 27, she would have been 74 years of age. The maiden name of the deceased was Rachel Helphrey. She was born in Ohio April 27, 1841, and with her parents came to Newton, Iowa, in the year 1853, where she grew to womanhood. In 1865 she was married to James Gant at Magnolia, Harrison Co., Iowa. Shortly after her marriage, she and her husband moved near Lima, Ohio. To them were born three sons, all of whom were with their mother in her last sickness. They are Edward, James and John Gant, all of Des Moines. Her husband died in Ohio, in the fall of 1874 and shortly after his death, she moved with her family of small children to Newton, Iowa, where her sons grew to manhood. In March 1890, she was again united in marriage to Conrad Kincebach and they lived in Newton until about two years ago when they moved to Des Moines. Mr. Kincebach preceded his wife in death, by just seven months. He passed away July 24, 1914. Mrs. Kincebach left besides her three sons, three brothers and one sister. David Helphrey of Leeton, MO; Israel Helphrey of Nevada, Iowa; Mrs. George Miller of Metz, Iowa; and Peter Helphrey of Newton. Mrs. Kincebach had been in poor health for over a year and confined to her bed since last October. She had been a member of the Methodist Church for many years. The funeral services were held on Friday, Feb. 26, at 10 o'clock at the James Gant home in Des Moines, conducted by Rev. Humphry of Des Moines, after which the body was brought to Newton and taken to the cemetery where a very brief service was held in the chapel and the body was laid to rest beside her late husband. Many beautiful flowers were sent by loving and sympathizing friends. The local firemen and the W.R.C. sent beautiful floral offerings
