Description	:	Rachel Huff was born the 8th of 9th mo 1800, a daughter of Daniel and Sarah Burnside Huff. She was a member of the Society of Friends. She married the 28th of 9th mo 1825 at Fairfield Friends Meeting, Ohio, Nathan Hunt (1800-1883). She was the mother of seven children: James, Jesse, Aaron Betts, Daniel, Jacob Green, Lydia Ann, and Milton. She died the 8th of 9th mo 1848. Read More	Rachel Huff was born the 8th of 9th mo 1800, a daughter of Daniel and Sarah Burnside Huff. She was a member of the Society of Friends. She married the 28th of 9th mo 1825 at Fairfield Friends Meeting, Ohio, Nathan Hunt (1800-1883). She was the mother of seven children: James, Jesse, Aaron Betts, Daniel, Jacob Green, Lydia Ann, and Milton. She died the 8th of 9th mo 1848. "The Western Friend, Fifth Day Fourth Month 12, 1849 Died, on the evening of the 8th of Ninth month, 1848, at her residence near Leesburg, Highland county, Ohio, of a short, though painful illness, RACHEL, wife of Nathan Hunt, and daughter of Daniel Huff, aged forty-eight years; a valuable and beloved Elder of Fairfield Monthly meeting. This dear Friend bore the sufferings incident to a very painful and distressing disease with Christian patience and resignation; and in humble hope looked forward to the period of her release, having expressed to her companion and friends, at different times, that she felt nothing in her way but that all was peace. The thought of leaving her beloved family gave her some concern, and she feelingly expressed a desire that they might have confidence in the Lord, that a way would be made for them where there appeared to be none; saying, there was nothing worth living for in this world but the religion of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. She gave some directions respecting her interment, which she desired might be decent, yet plain. Meekness and humility of spirit, and other peculiarly tender sympathies of heart rendered her dear to her family and a large circle of relatives and friends, who deeply feel their irreparable loss, yet are consoled by the undoubted evidence afforded, that notwithstanding the earthly house of this tabernacle be dissolved, she has a building of God, eternal in the heavens."
