Description	:	LAUREL - Rachel R. Ruff, 89, passed away Saturday, May 16, 2009. Rachel was born Dec. 27, 1919, in Wellington, Colo., the daughter of Jacob and Mary Reichert. She was united in marriage to Philip Frank Jr. on March 15, 1939. They lived in Laurel until Philip's death in 1964. In 1966, Rachel married Jacob Ruff and moved to Brainerd, Minn. She lived there until Jacob's retirement, at which time they move back to Laurel. She enjoyed craftwork and she was an avid craft maker and many enjoyed her items through the yearly craft sales. Rachel was born Dec. 27, 1919, in Wellington, Colo., the daughter of Jacob and Mary Reichert. She was united in marriage to Philip Frank Jr. on March 15, 1939. They lived in Laurel until Philip's death in 1964. In 1966, Rachel married Jacob Ruff and moved to Brainerd, Minn. She lived there until Jacob's retirement, at which time they move back to Laurel. She enjoyed craftwork and she was an avid craft maker and many enjoyed her items through the yearly craft sales. Rachel was the senior champion bowler for Montana in 1982, and she participated in the National Bowling Championship in 2002, where she placed eighth in the nation on the senior level. Rachel is survived by her children, Robert (Judy) Frank of Laurel, Linda (Skip) Hanson of Isle, Minn.; stepchildren, William (Carol) Ruff of Billings, Eileen (Deed) Wiltse of Ottawa, Kan., Donald (Judy) Ruff of Springfield, Ill., Paul (Jeanette) Ruff of Baxter, Minn.; 13 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren; sister Esther (Harold) Becker, brother Jake Reichert. Rachel loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; husbands Philip Frank, Jacob Ruff; sisters Emma and Rosalie; brothers Robert, Edward, twin brother Harold; son Ronald Frank and grandson Joseph Ruff. The Ruff family would like to thank Rocky Mountain Hospice for their excellent care of Rachel. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, May 22, at the First Congregational Church in Laurel. Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 21, at Smith Funeral Chapel-Laurel.
