Description	:	Raphael was the son of Jacob Sailer. Oct 26, 1960 - Carroll Daily Times - Raphael Sailer, 76, farmer living four miles west of Manning, died at Manning General Hospital Monday evening, Oct. 24. He suffered a stroke Monday morning and was taken to the hospital. Mr. Sailer had been in failing health for about two years. Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 28, at Sacred Heart Church, Manilla, with the Rev. C.L. Keleher officiating. Burial will be beside his wife in St. Augustine Cemetery, Halbur, under direction of the Ohde Funeral Home. Mr Sailer was born Feb. 3, 1884, at Beretshofen near Munich, Germany. He received his education in Germany. He was married to Theresa Mayer Sept. 6, 1909 in Germany; and shortly after their marriage, Sept 23, 1909, they came to the United States, settling first in Audubon County. In 1911 they moved to the Templeton area, farming there until 1928, then moving to a farm southwest of Halbur. Mrs. Sailer died July 5, 1930, and Mr. Sailer continued to farm near Halbur until 1941, going from there to the present farm west of Manning. He was a member of Sacred Heart Church, Manilla. Surviving are three sons: Ralph Sailer, at home; Frank and Martin Sailer, Schleswig; two daughters, Mrs. William (Theresa) Wanninger, Manilla, and Anne Sailer, New Ulm, Minn.; 17 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and one brother in Germany. Preceding him in death in addition to his wife were two daughters, Katherine, and one in infancy; one granddaughter; one sister; and four brothers.
