Description	:	Ralph Adin Barnaby, 66, of Metamora, Ohio, died Wednesday, October 25, 1972, in his home following a long illness. Mr. Barnaby was a life-long resident of Amboy Township and had served as a trustee since 1950. He was a graduate of Metamora high school in 1925 and was a well-known political figure in Fulton county. He was a member of the Metamora United... Read More	Ralph Adin Barnaby, 66, of Metamora, Ohio, died Wednesday, October 25, 1972, in his home following a long illness. Mr. Barnaby was a life-long resident of Amboy Township and had served as a trustee since 1950. He was a graduate of Metamora high school in 1925 and was a well-known political figure in Fulton county. He also was a horse trainer and drove his own horses in racing events in Ohio and Michigan for many years. His name has been associated with many famous area harness horses. He was a member of the Metamora United Methodist Church, the Wauseon Elks club and the Ohio and Michigan Harness Horsemen’s Association. Surviving are his wife, Alma; mother, Mrs. Grace Barnaby of Metamora; two brothers, Douglas of Metamora and Wayne of Berkey; and two sisters, Mrs. Ruth Wright of Metamora and Mrs. Velma Gordon of Rochester, N.Y. Funeral services will be held Saturday from the Biehl-Malone Funeral Home, Metamora. Interment Amboy Township Cemetery. Reprinted from: The Metamora Record Oct 26, 1972 ======================================== HIS WIFE Alma L. (Funk) Barnaby, 92, formerly of Metamora, died Tuesday, February 10, 1998 in London, Ohio. She was born July 29, 1905, in Oak Run Township, Madison County, Ohio to John and Mollie (Kenner) Funk. Second of seven children, Mrs. Barnaby was a grade school teacher for many years, teaching grades 5 and 6 at Metamora High School. Alma has the distinction of having two tombstones. One, with her husband, in Amboy Township, outside Metamora, and one, with family, in Kirkwood Cemetery, London. Both of which, are incorrect. The tombstone in Amboy with her husband has death as 2001, which should have remained blank because she was not burried there. And the one in Kirkwood, with the other Funk family members, where she actually is buried, has her born date as the 31st. Alma (Funk) Barnaby July 29, 1905 - Feb. 10, 1998 She is survived by four sisters, Edna Van Orman, Dorothy Hull, Frances Pinnegar and Florence Castagna. Preceding in death were her husband Ralph; parents John and Mollie; and brothers, John Jr, and George. Interment Kirkwood Cemetery, London, Ohio. ========================================
