Read More	The community was shocked to learn of the death of Ralph Lefler last Thursday. He had taken a load of feed to the Farmer's Co-op elevator to have it ground. He had just walked into the grinding room when he fell. Medical aid was summoned but life was extinct. He had appeared in good health and his passing was totally unexpected. Ralph Bridgman Lefler, son of James Arthur and Hattie Lefler, was born May 2, 1911, at Fairmont, Neb. He spent his entire life in the Fairmont community, where he attended rural school and graduated from the Fairmont high school in 1929. At an early age he became a member of the Congregational church at Fairmont. During his life-time, he held many offices in his church after its federation. He was united in marriage to Miss Gladys White June 4, 1935. To this union were born three children, Delma Roine, Howard Ralph and Francis Earl. His entire lifetime was spent living and serving in the Fairmont area, where he was deeply interested in community affairs. At the time of his passing, he was a member of the Hesperian I.O.O.F. lodge No. 42 Stacy Encampment No. 11, a member and past president of the Exeter's Feeders Association, a member of the board of directors of the Fairmont Co-operative Association and served a term as president, having completed this office the day before his death. He departed this life January 20, 19666 attaining an age of 54 years, 8 months and 18 days. He was a devoted husband and father. He is survived by his wife, Gladys, his daughter Delma of Lincoln; two sons, Howard and Francis, both at home; two brothers, Lloyd of Lincoln and Claude of Fairmont; his mother-in-law, Mrs. Louise White of Corvallis, Ore.; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. His loss is not borne by the immediate family alone, but by all who knew him. Funeral services were held Sunday, January 23, at 2:30 p.m. at the Federated church at Fairmont with Rev. Gale G. Prentice of York officiating. A quartet, Federal Bridgman, Harold Smith, Marvin Swartz and Marvin Roper, sang "Under His Wings" and "The Old Rugged Cross," accompanied by Miss Linda Smith. Pallbearers were Robert Halsey, LaVern Holtmeier, Clyde Jacobsen, Albert Lott, Everett Nichols and Eldon Opfer. Interment was in the Fairmont cemetery with Hesperian Lodge No. 42, I.O.O.F. in charge.
