Description	:	Ralph Burton Stroman was born, the second child of seven, on March 16, 1911, in the bedroom of his parents home just outside the township of Ulysses, NE. His parents were Burr Ray Stroman and Ada May Stetson Stroman. He graduated from Ulysses High School in 1930 and attended diesel mechanics school in Chicago. He returned to Nebraska and worked as a mechanic in Laurel, NE. It was there that he saw Elzada Larson walking down the street and informed his co-workers that he "was going to marry that girl". Read More	Ralph Burton Stroman was born, the second child of seven, on March 16, 1911, in the bedroom of his parents home just outside the township of Ulysses, NE. His parents were Burr Ray Stroman and Ada May Stetson Stroman. He graduated from Ulysses High School in 1930 and attended diesel mechanics school in Chicago. He returned to Nebraska and worked as a mechanic in Laurel, NE. It was there that he saw Elzada Larson walking down the street and informed his co-workers that he "was going to marry that girl". Six months later, on Dec 25, 1941, they did get married, in secret, at Sioux City, IA. The reason for the secrecy was because Ralph was going to enlist in the Army and knew he would be leaving and Elzada was a telephone operator and could not continue with that job with her husband in the service. He enlisted on April 30, 1942 and spent most of his time in Europe and Africa in the motor pool as a mechanic. While in Africa, he found the grave of his brother-in-law, Eldon Larson, who was killed on November 8, 1942 in Algeria, North Africa. He returned home in October of 1945. When he returned from the war, they moved to Ulysses, NE where he farmed and was in the dairy business. He was also involved in the school system as a school board member. In 1966 they moved to a farm near Leigh, NE where he continued farming and dairying until, suffering from angina, he finally retired and they moved back to Laurel, NE. They had six children Charles Burton Stroman Stephen Lee Stroman Douglas Eugene Stroman Bruce Scott Stroman b. 3/9/1952 d. 1/11/1985 (car accident) Judyth Mae Stroman Kumm Marilyn Kae Stroman Croci Siblings Elizabeth May (1909-2003) George Everett (1914-2004) Frederick Samuel 1917-.1990 Lois Gean (1926-1980) Ralph passed away on 9/23/1991 in Laurel, NE while working in his garden.
