He was born September 3, 1925, a son of the late Boyer William and Ocie Bell (Minard) Kennedy. On November 8, 1948, he married the former Violine Croston, who survives at rt. #1, Moatsville. Also surviving are one brother, Isaac Kennedy, Philippi and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one sister, Jenny Newman and by five brothers, Delbert Kennedy, Raymond Kennedy, Luther Kennedy, Gaston Kennedy and Herbert Hoover Kennedy. Mr. Kennedy had worked in area coal mines as a young man but found a career in the steel mills around Canton, retiring in 1986 following 30 years service. He was a member of Steel Workers Local #1200, A.F.L. - C.I.O. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, November 2, from the Stemple & Forman Funeral Home, 385 So. Main Street, Philippi. The Rev. Winfield Mayle, Elder James Hurt and the Rev. Paul Mullen will officiate and interment will follow in the Welch Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2:00 until 9:00 P.M., on Sunday and from 9:00 A.M. until 2:00 P.M., the funeral hour, on Monday.
