Born Oct. 21, 1929, in Hale, Mo., he was the son of Roy and Carlotta Columbo Septer. On July 3, 1948, he married Joan Brown in New London. Mr. Septer worked for 38 years at Iowa Army Ammunition Plant in Middletown as an instrument technician. He attended school in Salem. Read More	Ralph Septer Ralph Edwin Septer, 79, of New London, died Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2009, at Great River Hospice House in West Burlington. Born Oct. 21, 1929, in Hale, Mo., he was the son of Roy and Carlotta Columbo Septer. On July 3, 1948, he married Joan Brown in New London. Mr. Septer worked for 38 years at Iowa Army Ammunition Plant in Middletown as an instrument technician. He attended school in Salem. He was a member of Community of Christ Church, New London Lions Club and Masonic Lodge 1 in Burlington. He enjoyed fishing, camping and working with his hands to build things. Survivors include his wife; one son, Russ Septer of Davenport; one daughter, Sharon Moore of Lowell; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one brother, George Septer of Salem; one sister, Shirley Guzman of Burlington; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one son, his parents and one brother. Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. Friday at Elliott Chapel in New London where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. The funeral for Mr. Septer will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Elliott Chapel. Burial will be in Brooks Cemetery, rural New London. A memorial has been established for Great River Hospice House.
