He was born April 17, 1904, in Humerick, Ill., to Jessie Elmer and Anna Williams Gephart. He married Ginny Gavin. She died Feb. 20 1964. He then married Ellen Gettings on Oct. 3, 1964, in Ottumwa. He was born April 17, 1904, in Humerick, Ill., to Jessie Elmer and Anna Williams Gephart. He married Ginny Gavin. She died Feb. 20 1964. He then married Ellen Gettings on Oct. 3, 1964, in Ottumwa. He was veteran of the U.S. Navy. He retired from John Morrell & Co. in 1965 and was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Virginia Pate of Naples, Fla., and Betty McKnight of El Paso, Texas; five grandchildren; a sister, Fern Spencer of Harrison, Ark.; and a brother, Woodrow of California. The service will be 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, the Father Anthony Herold officiating. Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery. Visitation is open after 9 a.m. today at Reece Funeral Home in Ottumwa. A Christian wake will be at 7 p.m followed by family visitation until 8 p.m. Memorials may be made to St. Patrick’s Catholic Church Pallbearers will be Don Harris, Mark Kruse and Scott, Tom, Paul and William Gettings.
