(His birth year was approximated.) The car, en route to Hagerstown, struck the east side of the abutment, the force shoving the motor back into the front seat, pinning Grissum inside the car. Sheriff's deputies were unable to remove his body until a wrecker had pulled his car away from the bridge. Chapman was found leaning over the steering wheel. He apparently was killed when his head struck the post. Mr. Grissum was employed by the town of Hagerstown. Grissum is survived by the widow, Mrs. Ellen Grissum, and a sister, Mrs. Jacob Frantz of Hagerstown. Funeral services for Mr. Grissum will be held Tuesday morning at 10:30 a.m. in the Gray Funeral Home and burial will be in the Brick Church Cemetery. the article was edited Ralph was the son of John H. and Martha Ellen Werking Grissum.
