Description	:	Ralph was born December 31, 1915, at Manchester, Iowa, to Lester H. and Marguerite (Work) Pilgrim. He was raised and educated in the Greeley area, graduating from Greeley High School in 1933. He then attended trade school in Chicago and worked as an electrician for a short time. Ralph was united in marriage to Marjorie Smith on August 8, 1942, in Los Angeles, California. Four children were born to this union. Read More	Ralph was born December 31, 1915, at Manchester, Iowa, to Lester H. and Marguerite (Work) Pilgrim. He was raised and educated in the Greeley area, graduating from Greeley High School in 1933. He then attended trade school in Chicago and worked as an electrician for a short time. Ralph was united in marriage to Marjorie Smith on August 8, 1942, in Los Angeles, California. Four children were born to this union. Together they operated a locker plant, and he repaired televisions as well as did other electrical work in Greeley. In 1953 Ralph was appointed postmaster in Greeley and retired in 1978. After Marjorie died on May 17, 1994, Ralph continued to reside in Greeley. Ralph died from cancer on Sunday, November 19, 2006, at the Edgewood Convalescent Home in Edgewood. He was ninety years of age. Ralph was a lifetime member of the Greeley United Methodist Church. He served as a volunteer on the Greeley Fire Department for twenty-five years. Ralph also served twelve years on the Greeley City Council, and nine years on the Greeley School Board. He was a Free Mason since 1941 and was a member of the Scottish Rite and El Kahir Temple, American Legion, National Association of Retired Federal Employees, and the Greeley Commercial Club. Ralph enjoyed writing poems and he also wrote a book of the history of Greeley, as he remembered it.
