Description	:	Ralph Irvin Stohler, 92, of Norman, Okla., died Tuesday, Sept. 5, 2006, in St. Michael's Hospital in Oklahoma City. He was born near Hagerstown on Oct. 6, 1913, the son of Alonzo and Martha Clark Stohler. He was a graduate of Hagerstown High School. Mr. Stohler resided... Read More	Ralph Irvin Stohler, 92, of Norman, Okla., died Tuesday, Sept. 5, 2006, in St. Michael's Hospital in Oklahoma City. He was born near Hagerstown on Oct. 6, 1913, the son of Alonzo and Martha Clark Stohler. He was a graduate of Hagerstown High School. Ralph represented his country throughout the U.S., Ireland, England and Cuba as a trainer in the use of the Norden Bombsight (used by the Army Air Force during World War II, the Korean War and Vietnam War to assist in accurately dropping bombs from aircraft). Mr. Stohler resided in Indianapolis for more than 50 years, during which time he mastered sales techniques through his many years of service to Monarch Buick and Tutwiler Cadillac. He was selected salesman of the month by WIFE radio, Ed Tutwiler Cadillac and the Indianapolis Sales Executives Council in 1956. He was a member of the Buick Royal Purple Salesmasters Club and the Cadillac Crest Club. Professional integrity was his utmost attribute. He retired in 1978. He was a member of Tabernacle Presbyterian Church, Indianapolis, and the Indianapolis Valley Scottish Rite. While living in Indianapolis, he maintained a residence in Naples, Fla., for 10 years. Golf and fishing were among his most enjoyable activities, and he always attempted to maintain a garden. On one occasion, after winning a trip to Hawaii, he brought home a pineapple top and attempted to grow a pineapple. He married Dorothy Elizabeth Harlow in 1936. She preceded him in death in 2003, after 67 years of marriage. Survivors include two children, Sharyn Ann Hobson (Terry) of Purcell, Okla., Gary Martin Stohler of Centerville; a brother, Lester Stohler of Angola; five grandchildren, Marcy (Hobson) Stellfox of Austin, Texas, Shalley (Hobson) McDorman Peck of Norman, Okla., Jennifer Hobson and Cassandra (Hobson) Vachon, both of San Antonio, Texas, Andrea Stohler of Richmond; three great-grandchildren, Braden McDorman, Cortney McDorman and Mark Vachon II. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Everett, Carl and Raymond Stohler; a sister, Edna (Stohler) Miller; and a grandson, Seth Stohler. Services will be at noon on Saturday, Sept. 9, in Culberson Funeral Home, Hagerstown. Pastor David Anderson will officiate. Burial will be in Brick Cemetery. Visitation will be after 10 a.m. Saturday.
