He grew up in Morrill County, Nebraska attending school in Northport, Redington and Bridgeport. Ralph was united in marriage to Carol Wickizer on December 10, 1966 in Ogallala, Nebraska. He grew up in Morrill County, Nebraska attending school in Northport, Redington and Bridgeport. Ralph was united in marriage to Carol Wickizer on December 10, 1966 in Ogallala, Nebraska. They first lived in North Platte, Nebraska where Mac worked for Albrecht Masonry laying brick and working construction. In 1970, Mac and Carol moved to Benkelman, Nebraska; they would live there the rest of their lives. Mac worked for Roy Dean and Roger Parker and on numerous other farms and ranches in Dundy County. He also raised of his own cattle, farmed his own ground and operated Boon Trucking for many years. Carol passed away in March of 2004. Mac remarried to Shary (Humphreys) Jones on May 4, 2013. Ralph was a member of the Max Community Center. His two great passions were looking after his cattle and working on and being around cars. Mac especially loved watching his son, Richard race. Mac had a love for Corvettes and would always make time to drive through a car lot. He shared his passion for cars with his grandchildren, letting them drive sitting on his lap. Mac loved his grandchildren. Ralph “Mac” Boon passed away Monday morning, April 23, 2018 at the Dundy County Hospital in Benkelman. He was 72 years of age. He was preceded in death by his parents; loving wife, Carol; and brothers, Frank and Daniel Boon. Survivors include his wife, Shary Boon;daughter, Becky Klippert and husband, Jeff; son, Richard Boon and special friend, Debbie; five sisters: Patricia Garrelts and husband, Blaine, Peggy Hodges, Agnes Mcfarlane and husband Mac of Berthoud, Denise Hinton and special friend, Brian, Susan Boon and domestic partner, Kara Rein; brother, Samuel Boon and wife, Melanie; grandchildren: Shelby Klippert, Ashley (Klippert) Underwood and Alisha Klippert; Cody Boon and Devin;and great-granddaughter, Maddison. Step-children are Kirk Jones, Kent Jones and Kimberly Sutherland and families; numerous nieces and nephews and countless friends. Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M. (MT), Friday morning, April 27, 2018 at the United Methodist Church in Benkelman with Pastor Rod Heilbrun and Bob Stamm officiating. Interment will follow in the Benkelman Cemetery.
