He was born Oct. 12, 1922, at Belington, a son of the late Ralph and Zelma Loleta Ware Haller. He was twice married, first to the former Jeanette Becker, who survives. Then on Nov. 15, 1975, at the Westside United Methodist Church in Belington, he was united in marriage to the former Bernice Gae Armentrout Moore, who survives at their home in Belington. He is survived by three sons, Neil Haller Jr. of St. Louis, Mo., Dave Haller of Long View, Wash., and Clayton Moore, of Philadelphia, Pa.; one brother, Norman Haller of Belington; one grandson, Drake Moore; and one granddaughter, Avery Moore. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Bob and Harley Haller. He was a 1942 graduate of the Belington High School, and was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Navy. He had spent many years in Texas working in sales until his return to West Virginia in 1974. Upon his return, he then was employed in the furniture business working for Ralph's Furniture, Val's Furniture and Bates Furniture. He and his wife, Bernice, were owner and operator of Haller's Restaurant in Belington in the late 1970s, and he served two terms as Belington City Councilman. He was a member of the Laurel Mt. Post 410 in Belington, and was a member and past commander of the American Legion Post 96 in Belington, and a member of the Westside United Methodist Church in Belington. Friends will be received at the Talbott Funeral Home in Belington from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday and on Wednesday until 2 p.m., the funeral hour, when services will be conducted from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Arden Beck and the Rev. Rose "Jo" McCartney officiating. Interment will follow in the Fraternal Cemetery at Belington where full military rites will be accorded by the American Legion Post 44 of Philippi. The family asks that, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to Mountain Hospice, Crim Avenue in Belington, W.Va. 26250.
