Description : Ralph R. Parks, 83, formerly of La Porte City, died Tuesday, Nov. 18, at Iowa Veterans Home, Marshalltown.

He was born Oct. 21, 1925, in La Porte City, son of Clayton Jack and Hazel Walker Parks. He married Evelyn Ayers on March 6, 1947, and they later divorced.

Mr. Parks worked as a mechanic for Sears Auto Center, retiring after 17 years. He served in the U.S. Navy as a machinist mate on the USS Holt destroyer in the South Pacific during World War II.
