Adin Argus, 26 March 1908, SAD CASE OF DROWNING. Last Sunday a sad case of drowning occurred on the corporation ranch by which the little son of Mr. and Mrs. Stewart Locy lost his life. The particulars, as near as we can obtain them. are about as follows: Mrs. Locy lifted the child out of a spring wagon and stepped into the house. When she came out a few minutes later he was gone and a search was immediately instituted, but not until the next day was the lifeless body of the little one found five miles from the Locy home. A drainage canal runs near the house, and it is supposed the child attempted to cross on a foot bridge to where some of the other children were playing on the hill. The canal is quite swift and the child falling into the current was swept away. The parents are almost distracted over the sad accident and we tender them our sincere sympathy in their great sorrow. The funeral was held Tuesday with interment in the Odd Fellows cemetery at Alturas. Many friends of the family attended the funeral from Likely. - Plaindealer.
