I have transcribed the obituary as written. ------------------------------ Obituary From “Ottumwa Courier,” Thursday, January 2, 1964: Lowenberg Rites Set For Monday The funeral for Ralph T. Lowenberg, 75, of Long Beach, Calif., former long-time Wapello County farmer, will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at the Jay Funeral Home. The Rev. A.D. Steffenson of the First Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will be in McCormick Cemetery near Highland Center. Mr. Lowenberg died Monday evening in a hospital in Long Beach. He was born March 2, 1988, in Wapello County, the son of Tony and Etta Buckner Lowenberg. He lived for about 10 years in Oklahoma but spent most of his life on a farm in the area which became the Ottumwa Naval Air Station. He retired and moved to California in the late 40's. He and Eva Mae Sauer were married Aug. 11, 1910. She survives. He was a member of the Wilson Presbyterian Church. He also leaves a daughter, Mrs. Lloyd Wallace of Ottumwa; two sons, Fred Lowenberg of Long Beach and Vernon Lowenberg of Ottumwa; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Cecil Miller of Hedrick; and a brother, Willie Lowenberg of Farson. One brother preceded him in death. The body is expected to arrive in Ottumwa Sunday morning.
