Born in Scituate, the son of the late Raymond L. and Helen G. (Paine) Battey. Mr. Battey retired from Command Aircraft in 1983 where he was a Tool Engineer. He was a lifelong Greenville resident and served as Chief and Volunteer for the Greenville Fire Department for several years. Born in Scituate, the son of the late Raymond L. and Helen G. (Paine) Battey. Mr. Battey retired from Command Aircraft in 1983 where he was a Tool Engineer. He was predeceased by 2 grandchildren and survived by 12 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. He leaves behind his siblings, Eleanor and Dave Campbell, Shirley Eagleson, Alanson Battey, Leslie Battey, Elaine and Larry Catlow and was brother of the late Milton Battey. His funeral will be held Tuesday, February 19 at 11am in the TUCKER-QUINN Funeral Chapel, 643 Putnam Ave. (Rt, 44) Greenville. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Park, Johnston. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to The American Diabetes Association, 146 Clifford St., Providence, RI 02903.
