Active pallbearers will be grandsons. Ramona Theresa Hjellming was born Sep 7, 1929, to Herman and Theresa (Heuer) Frentz on a farm near South Shore. She was baptized and confirmed in St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Mazeppa Township, Grant County. She grew up in the Summit area, attending the rural schools in Grant County through the eighth grade. She graduated from Summit High School and received her teaching diploma for the second grade from Northern State College in Aberdeen. She married Darrell Bernell Hjellming Jun 1, 1948, in St. Martin's Lutheran Parish at Watertown. She taught rural school from 1948 to 1951. They lived and farmed near Henry from 1948 to 1955. They moved to Watertown in 1955, where she was employed by Montgomery Ward from 1957 to 1967, Heaton Agency as a bookkeeper from 1967 to 1974 and then she was an insurance salesperson for AAA Insurance and then for Physicians Mutual from 1980 to 1994. Her husband died Sep 30, 2005. She became a resident of Golden Living Center in Lake Norden in Feb of 2010. She was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church, the American Legion Auxiliary and the Watertown Senior Citizens. She enjoyed camping, reading, playing the organ, music, collecting old dishes and spending time with her friends and family, especially her grandchildren. Survivors include two children, Lynn (Joyce) Hjellming of Rock Rapids, IA, and Dede (Ron) Dylla of Vienna; her brothers, Victor Frentz of Watertown and Harold (Janis) Frentz of Sioux Falls; her sister-in-law, Elnore Frentz of Watertown; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
