Iowa Avenue, Washington, died Saturday July 29, 1978, at the Washington County Hospital. He had been ill for the in past two years. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at the United Methodist Church, Washington, with the Rev. J. Roland Crandall officiating. Burial will be in the Elm Grove Cemetery. Iowa Avenue, Washington, died Saturday July 29, 1978, at the Washington County Hospital. He had been ill for the in past two years. Contributions may be left at the funeral home. Mr. Kelsey was born September 8, 1904, at Crawfordsville, the son of Ralph and Valma Hopengardner Kelsey. He was reared and educated at Ainsworth. On Feb. 25, 1929 he married Freda M. Dunbar at Iowa City. He had lived in Washington County all of his life and in Washington since 1928. He was a member of the Knights of Pythias Lodge, the Izaak Walton League, and the United Methodist Church. He was employed by Sitler Electric for 22 years as a road salesman. He was instrumental in helping with the annual Handicap Fishing Fun Day, sponsored by the Izaak Walton League. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Freda ZM. Kelsey of Washington; one son, Bill Kelsey of Honolulu, Hawaii; one daughter, Mrs. Lyle (Marilyn) Darbyshire of Washington; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; one brother, Lyle Kelsey of Glendale, Ariz.; two sisters, Mrs. Elmer (Bonnie) Roeder of Iowa City and Mrs. Jean Fletcher of Crawfordsville.
