Description	:	Randy Allen Lauer, 66, of West Union, was called home by our heavenly father on Sunday, August 8, 2021. He was born January 3, 1955 in West Union to Leslie and Frances (Wolfs) Lauer. He was baptized at St. Olaf Lutheran Church, West Union, and confirmed at St. Peter Lutheran, Eldorado. Randy graduated from North High School with the class of 1973. After graduation he began farming and working for his dad running heavy equipment. Randy was united in marriage to Connie Upton on March 15, 1975. One son was born to this union. He was baptized at St. Olaf Lutheran Church, West Union, and confirmed at St. Peter Lutheran, Eldorado. Randy graduated from North High School with the class of 1973. After graduation he began farming and working for his dad running heavy equipment. Randy was united in marriage to Connie Upton on March 15, 1975. One son was born to this union. He was a charter member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, West Union. Randy loved his family, especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed spending time with his grandsons going to sales and teaching his granddaughter how to drive the uni loader and tractor. He also enjoyed spending time with his dog, Ted. Survivors include his wife, Connie; his son, Chris, and his wife Jill; four grandchildren, Garrett, Levi, Seth and Laci; his mother, Frances; his four brothers, Ron (Marie); Terry (Shari); Larry (Kris) and Ferlin; sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law; and an uncle, two aunts, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his dad, Leslie; grandparents, Peter and Hulda Lauer, Leo and Irene Wolfs; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Charles and Marjorie Upton; sister-in-law, June Upton; brothers-in-law, Bill and Gene Upton; an uncle, Lewis Wolfs; nephews, Daniel Lauer, Ryan Upton; niece, Jennifer Upton and a cousin, Daniel Wingler. A public visitation will be held on Thursday, August 12, from 4-7 p.m. at Redeemer Lutheran Church, West Union. A family graveside service will be held at St. Peter Lutheran Cemetery, Eldorado on Friday, August 13 at 10:30 a.m. Burnham-Wood Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service of West Union, Iowa is helping the family with arrangements.
