Description	:	Randy Brent Dommer, 54, of Ottumwa, formerly of Iconium, died April 17, 2012, at the Monroe County Hospital in Albia after a long battle with mesothelioma. Randy was born on Aug. 29, 1957, in Centerville to Laurence and Nadine(Kelley)Dommer. He married Karen Moss on Dec. 7, 1975, and to that union they had two sons, Benjamin and Cory Dommer. Randy was born on Aug. 29, 1957, in Centerville to Laurence and Nadine(Kelley)Dommer. He married Karen Moss on Dec. 7, 1975, and to that union they had two sons, Benjamin and Cory Dommer. He was Duea Motor's parts manager for 27 years in Albia. Randy enjoyed his job at Duea Motors, which carried over into a special interest in sprint cars and drag racing. He liked being outdoors, riding ATVs and shooting. He also enjoyed his time with family and friends. Randy is survived by his wife, Michelle of Ottumwa; two sons, Benjamin(Becky Pinegar)Dommer of Moravia and Cory(Kelsie)Dommer of Osceola; grandchildren, Colton and Kenley Dommer; his mother, Nadine of Moravia; three brothers, Mike(Cindy Schmidt), Phil and Tom; a special daughter-in-law, Sunny Jo Dommer; and many nieces and nephews. Randy was preceded in death by his father, Laurence; his grandparents; and a brother, Larry. Funeral services will be 10:30 am Saturday at Tharp Funeral Home in Albia; with Rev. Terry Chapman officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery in Moravia. Visitation will open at 11 am Friday at Tharp Funeral Home in Albia, with Randy's family present from 6-8 pm. A memorial has been established to Autism Awareness.
