Description	:	Ray A. Giffen, age 82, of College Corner, passed away at McCullough-Hyde Memorial Hospital on Saturday, March 19, 2005. Born in Butler County, Ohio, on June 24, 1922, he was the son of the late Earl and Emma (Truster) Giffen. On Jan. 27, 1948, he married Marilyn Pickens in Seven Mile, Ohio. Giffen, age 82, of College Corner, passed away at McCullough-Hyde Memorial Hospital on Saturday, March 19, 2005. Born in Butler County, Ohio, on June 24, 1922, he was the son of the late Earl and Emma (Truster) Giffen. On Jan. 27, 1948, he married Marilyn Pickens in Seven Mile, Ohio. He was a graduate of Wayne Township High School and an Army Air Corps veteran serving in WWII. Mr. Giffen was a member of the College Corner First United Presbyterian Church. He was a former member of the College Corner Community Club and worked with the Cub Scouts. Mr. Giffen was a former trustee of the Butler Rural Electric Co-op and a member of the College Corner School Board. He was a lifelong farmer in Preble and Butler Counties and an electrician for 20 years. A devoted husband, father and grandfather, Mr. Giffen is survived by his wife of 57 years, Marilyn Giffen of College Corner, Ohio; children, Gail (Ron) Cole of Lebanon, Ohio, Gary (Linda) Giffen of Miamisburg, Ohio, Gwen (Jerry) Wiggins of Miamisburg, Ohio, Gina Hillman of Troy, Ohio, Geri (Mike) Murray of West College Corner, Ind., Greg (Tracy) Giffen of Centerville, Ind., and Gene Giffen of College Corner, Ohio; 16 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Lucille Giffen; nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his twin brother, Roy Giffen; brother, Willard Giffen; and son-in-law, Greg Hillman. Funeral services will be held at the College Corner First United Presbyterian Church on Tuesday, March 22, 2005, at 10 a.m. with Pastor Jason Bantz officiating. Burial will follow at Collinsville Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church on Monday, March 21, from 5-8 p.m.
