Description	:	Ray was born 15 November 1931 on the family farm at Tyrell Lake to Lemuel Merrill Adams and Annie Marion Eveson Adams. The family moved from the farm to Magrath when Ray was still a baby. They lived there until they moved to Raymond in 1934. In 19147 Ray left school to attend school and play hockey in Moose Jaw, Sask, graduating from Moose Jaw Technical High School. The family moved from the farm to Magrath when Ray was still a baby. They lived there until they moved to Raymond in 1934. In 19147 Ray left school to attend school and play hockey in Moose Jaw, Sask, graduating from Moose Jaw Technical High School. Ray first met Velma, his wife, at his brother Allen's wedding in Rosemary in 1946. They were married in 1951 by Bishop Walter Pitcher in Calgary. Ray's occupation was surveying and construction of dams and large water projects, working for the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation and for Mountain Fuel Supply in Utah. He spent 15 years in the hydrometric field, gathering stream flow, run off, floods, and water distribution systems data and information under the Department of Northern Affairs and Natural Resources, Water Resource Branch, Canada. He has been a lover of horses and in 1976 he left his chosen profession to do what he really always wanted to do, which was to train thoroughbred race horses. They traveled all over during these years. Velma and Ray moved back to Raymond and took up residence in his mother's house after her death living there for a few months in the summer and then returning to their home in Phoenix. In 1990 they spent their first full year in Raymond and did from then on. They had four sons: Donald Devar, Vernon Ray, Gary Wayne and Duane C. Adams. They all served honorable missions for the L.D.S. Church. RAYMOND REMEMBERED, 1993, 4 & 5.
