Description	:	Raymond McVeigh, 89, formerly of Montrose, died at Keokuk Convalescent Center at 12:55 AM Sunday. Mr. McVeigh was born Jan. 20, 1886 in Stockport, Ia., the son of Alfred and Mary Francis McVeigh. in his earlier years he was Montrose town marshal and custodian of the Montrose cemetery. He was later employed by the C.B.& Q railroad. On March 29, 1920 he married Lillian Cowen in Outlook, Saskatchewan, Canada. She preceded him in death on Dec. 30, 1972. Mr. McVeigh was born Jan. 20, 1886 in Stockport, Ia., the son of Alfred and Mary Francis McVeigh. in his earlier years he was Montrose town marshal and custodian of the Montrose cemetery. He was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Montrose. Survivors include two sons, Raymond and Robert McVeigh, both of Fort Madison; two daughters, Mrs. Sabert (Doris) Smith of Mt. Pleasant and Mrs. Raymond Clemenson, Farmington; 11 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a sister, Mrs. Myrtle Gregory of Keokuk; a brother, Leo McVeigh of Keokuk; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two grandchildren, four brothers, a sister and three children in infancy. A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday at the DeJong Funeral Home with the Rev. Donald Kelly officiating. Interment will be in the Montrose cemetery.
