He married Esther Burroughs Nov. 7, 1925 in Cadar Rapids. He was reared and educated in Colo and graduated from Colo High School. He was also a graduate of Coe College in Cedar Rapids. He later graduated from the University of Iowa Law School and practiced law with Ralph Sheets. Mr. Bryant later was in the contracting business and built many homes in Marshalltown. He was a veteran of World War I and served with the U.S. Army. His memberships included the First United Methodist Church of which he was a past superintendent of the Sunday School, past commander of the American Legion, and he had been active in the district and state legion activities and was a past commander of District Three. He was a member of the four local Masonic orders and had been head of many of these. He was a past member of the ZaGaZig Shrine in Des Moines, a past member of the Marshall County Board of Review where he served for 19 years, past exaulted ruler of the Elks Lodge, and served two separate terms on the Marshalltown City Council. Mr. Bryant was preceded in death by four brothers and sisters. He is survived by his wife, Esther; and a sister, Mildred McCoy of Davenport.
