Description	:	Terribly burned about the face and the body from an explosion of gasoline in his garage at Burkittsville Wednesday afternoon, Ray Nelson Rohrer, aged about 24 years, died at the Frederick City hospital Wednesday evening little more than five hours later. Read More	Terribly burned about the face and the body from an explosion of gasoline in his garage at Burkittsville Wednesday afternoon, Ray Nelson Rohrer, aged about 24 years, died at the Frederick City hospital Wednesday evening little more than five hours later. His clothing was burned completely from his body and he was rushed to the hospital from the store of M.L. Horine where he was taken immediately after the accident. Mr. Rohrer it was stated was alone in his garage at the time of the accident. Engaged in cleaning automobile parts from a bucket of gasoline it is thought that he dropped one of the parts into the gasoline splashing some of the fluid on the stove causing the explosion. Enveloped in flames, Mr. Rohrer ran from the building crying for help. A number of persons went to his assistance and attempted to remove the burning clothing from his body. Clifford Smith, who obtained a bucket of water extinguished the flames. Mr. Rohrer it was stated was able to get up and was assisted to the store of Mr. Horine. Because of his condition Mr. Rohrer was able to give but a very meager account of the accident. Persons, who went to the garage said it was evident that the gasoline in the bucket exploded causing the flaming fluid to spray the clothing of Mr. Rohrer. Mr. Rohrer is survived by his wife, formerly Miss Kathleen Fink, daughter of Rev. C.W. Fink, a Church of God minister of Locust Valley, and one son. He is survived by his parents, Mrs. and Mrs. Harry Rohrer, of near Bolivar. He had been operating a garage in Burkittsville for some time and was well-known.
