Description	:	RAY R. HARBOUR 1908 - 2000 NEW SHARON - Ray R. Harbour, 91, of New Sharon, died Wednesday, June 14, at New Sharon Nursing & Rehab Center. Cremation has been accorded. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday at New Sharon Nursing & Rehab, with Keith Reed officiating. No visiting hours are planned. Ray Harbour was born Nov. 18, 1908, in Mahaska County, to Elmer A. And Coral Kisor Harbour. He attended the Lacey School, where he played basketball. He attended William Penn College in Oskaloosa before entering the forestry program at Iowa State College in Ames. He spent several summers in the national forests of the West as a trainee ranger. Upon graduation in 1938, he began farming near What Cheer, and later farmed in Woodbury and Ida counties. He moved to Cedar Rapids in 1963, where he was employed by Merchants Bank for 17 years. Upon retiring, he moved to Kansas City to be near his family. He was a member of Westport United Methodist Church, the Masonic Lodge, and was a volunteer at the Salvation Army Daycare. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, and was an avid football fan. He is survived by four daughters: Anne Harbour of Leawood, Kan., Jan Harbour of Midwest City, Okla., Laurel J. Harbour of London, England, and Lea C. Harbour of Leawood, Kan.; three grandchildren; a sister, Marie Fisher of New Sharon; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers: Claris K. "Jack" and Afton Harbour; and a sister, Mrs. Byrl Loobey. Source: Oskaloosa Herald, Thursday, June 22, 2000, pg. 5
