Read More	From Nevada Evening Journal October 15, 1946 (page 3) Ray Riddlesbarger Laid to Rest Monday Afternoon Central Presbyterian church was filled to capacity Monday afternoon at 2:30 with sorrowing relatives and friends assembled to pay their last tribute of love and respect to the later Ray Riddlesbarger, 55, who passed away suddenly early Friday morning at his home east of Nevada. The large number of beautiful floral offerings which completely banked the front of the church were expressive of the love and esteem in which the deceased was held. They were arranged by Mrs. H. M. Vinsel, Mrs. E. P. Schindler, Mrs. H. P. Albery and Mrs. J. K. Banks. Mrs. Norman C. Dobson was at the organ playing appropriate hymns during the service. The Reverend James D. Ransom pastor of the deceased, officiated, bringing words of comfort to those who mourned and paying a high tribute of respect to the life of the deceased which he stated was an exemplary one. Members of the Nevada Masonic lodge, the local Odd fellows and the American Legion, of which the deceased had been a member, attended the service in a body. The casket bearers included Frank Vail, Robert Campvell, Harold Huff, C. E. Bivens, George Eilers and Tony Rooney of Des Moines. Committal was in the Nevada cemetery where the Nevada Masonic lodge held their impressive burial services with I. r. Kempkes, officiating. Rev. Ransom gave the closing prayer. Obituary The following brief life history was read at the funeral service: "Ray Samuel Riddlesbarger, son of John and Almira Riddlesbarger, was born February 10, 1891 in Nevada, Iowa, and passed away at his country home east of Nevada, October 11, 1946. "He attended the Nevada schools, and on February 17, 1920 was joined in marriage with Vivian Dawson. "His father, mother, and brother Lee, preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife, his twin brother, Guy, of Westminister, California, one sister, Edna, Mrs. P. A. Satterlee, of Barron, Wisc., and by several nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews and cousins--and by an innumerable host of neighbors and friends. "He was a member of the Presbyterian church, Masonic Lodge, Odd Fellows Lodge, and American Legion. "He was a thoughtful and devoted husband, helpful and kind to everyone. His presence will be greatly missed by his loved ones and all who had come to know his beaming smile and friendly spirit." From Out Of Town Among the relatives here from out of town were the twin brother, Guy Riddlesbarger of Westminister, Calif.; the sister and her husband, Mr. and Mrs. P. A. Satterlee and the nieces, Mrs Ray Mills and Mrs. Carl Ormson of Barron, Wis., and his cousins, Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Troutnow, Vinton. Other relatives were Mr. and Mrs. Guy Anderson and son Richard and John, Mr. and Mrs. Dan Stillwell of Ames; Mr. and Mrs. S. W. Shaw of Des Moines, Mr. H. R. Klove, Sac City, Mrs. F. M. Dawson of Randall and Mrs. Paul Olson, Mrs. Wm. Challma, of Story City. Among the out of town friends in attendance were Mr. and Mrs. James Van Horn of Boone, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Van Horn, Mr. and Mrs. Lee Van Horn of Brcelyn, Minn.; Mrs. Chas. Silletto, E. B. Carpenter and Mr. and Mrs. Edw. Rooney of Des Moines; Mrs. Queen Banks of Los Angeles, Calif., and Mrs. T. B. Thompson and Mrs. Jonas Arneson of Roland and possibly a number of otehrs.
