Read More	RAYMOND CHRISTY Ottumwa ----Raymond A Christy, 74, of 14345 50th Street, Ottumwa, died at 9:39 pm, February 18, 1996, at the Ottumwa Regional Health Center after a heart attack. He was born January 10, 1922 in Laddsdale to Alva and Laura Belle Stater Christy. He married Ruth Moureau on February 8, 1972 in Kirksville, Missouri. He was employed by John Morrell & Co. until he left to serve in the Army during World War II in Europe. After his discharge from service he was employed by John Deere Ottumwa Works, retiring in 1975. He was a member of the Walter B Shafer Post No. 75 of the VFW, a life member of the Disabled American Vets, a life member of the 12th Armored Division Association, a life member of the North American Hunting Club, a member of the Poppin' Johnnies 2 Cylinder Club, the Pork and Beef Producers, and the John Deere Retirees. He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Ramona Peterson of Vero Beach, Florida and Tammi Crafton of Ottumwa; two step sons, Jean Moureau of Norwalk and Brad Moureau of Des Moines; five grandchildren; and a step grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers; and four sisters. The service will be 3 pm Wednesday at the First Church of the Open Bible, the Rev. John Freeman officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery. Military services will be conducted by Walter B Shaffer Post No. 775 of the VFW and O. B. Nelson Post No. 2 of the American Legion. Visitation will begin after 11am today at the Reese Funeral Home; the family will be at the funeral home from 6-8pm. Memorials will be made to the 12th Armored Division Association. He was previously married to M. Elizabeth Zellers, on August 2, 1942, in Ottumwa, IA.
