Ray was born on November 9, 1935, in DeWitt, the son of August E. and Lucile M. (Anderson) Burmeister. He married Shirley Kubik in DeWitt on February 14, 1962. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Nelson Heesch Funeral Home, Clinton. Visitation is 4-7 p.m. today. Burial will be in Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Surviving are his wife, Shirley; sons, Dean, and his wife, Ronelle Burmeister, of Clinton, and Larry Burmeister, and his friend, Janet Worden, of Charlotte; step-grandchildren, Kyle and Carrie Jackson; a sister, Alice (Richard) Carber, of Low Moor; brothers, William (Margaret) Burmeister, of Clinton, Wayne (Dorothy) Burmeister, of Miles, Donald (Judy) Burmeister, of DeWitt, Kenny (Wilma) Burmeister, of Clinton, Gary (Marilyn) Burmeister, of Camanche, and Edwin (Ann) Burmeister, of Clinton. His parents, a brother, Lyle, and a daughter, Wanda Sue, preceded him in death.
