Description	:	Raymond A. Forbes was born on May 20, 1919 to Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Forbes. He passed from this life on June 1st, 1964 at his home in St. Paul. He reached the age of 45 years and 12 days. He made his home with his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Forbes of Palmer at an early age and was brought up in the Palmer area. He attended Glenwood Grade School and was graduated from Palmer High School. He later met and was married to Doris Jepson on August 10, 1940. To this union were born two... Read More	Raymond A. Forbes was born on May 20, 1919 to Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Forbes. He passed from this life on June 1st, 1964 at his home in St. Paul. He reached the age of 45 years and 12 days. He made his home with his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Forbes of Palmer at an early age and was brought up in the Palmer area. He attended Glenwood Grade School and was graduated from Palmer High School. He later met and was married to Doris Jepson on August 10, 1940. To this union were born two children, Mini Gail, and Billy J., both at home. He was employed by the Ordinance Plant at Grand Island during the 2nd World War. In 1947 he was appointed Deputy County Clerk for Howard County, and was appointed the Clerk and later elected to the post in 1950, which job he held until his passing. Bill (sic) was baptized and confirmed into the Lutheran Faith, which he held until death. He was instrumental in the formation of St. Mark's Lutheran Church, and was elected its first president, which job he held for five years. He was a Master Mason of St. Paul Lodge No. 82 AF&AM, a member of Jordan Chapter No. 27 of RAM, Mount Ararat Commander NO. 23, all of St. Paul, and of Order of Shrine of Tehama of Hastings. He was the first Associate Guardian of Jobs Daughter Bethel No. 71 also of St. Paul. He was a member of the County Clerk's Association and Clerk of District Courts Association. He was a past secretary of the Howard County Democratic Party and a member of the St. Paul Chamber of Commerce. Surviving are his wife; two children; his mother, Mrs. C. H. Forbes of Altedena, Calif; one sister, Mrs. Jean Atkisson of Pasedena, Calif; two aunts, Mrs. Tom OHare of Palmer and Miss Anita Forbes of Fullerton; one uncle, Everett Forbes of Palmer, and a host of friends and relatives.
