Description	:	Raymond C. Dotson Jr., 78, died Monday morning at his home in Butte. He was born in Sidney on June 30, 1928, to Raymond C. and Blanche (Quilling) Dotson. He grew up in eastern Montana and attended schools in Lambert, Park Grove and Miles City. He served his country in the Army from 1947 through 1948. He was born in Sidney on June 30, 1928, to Raymond C. and Blanche (Quilling) Dotson. He grew up in eastern Montana and attended schools in Lambert, Park Grove and Miles City. He served his country in the Army from 1947 through 1948. Following his discharge, Ray returned to Montana and worked on several ranches when he was young. He came to Butte in 1948 and worked as a motorman in the mines. He worked as a heavy equipment operator for many years and taught heavy equipment operation at the Anaconda Job Corps for many years. He also drove city bus in Butte for several winters. He enjoyed hunting, but had a passion for fishing. He loved music and enjoyed his Harley Davidson motorcycles for more than 20 years. He married Marjore Vanderhoof, in Fairview, on Jan. 20, 1950; she died in 1981. Ray married Maria Moreno in Butte in 1983. Survivors include his wife, Maria; sons and daughters-in-law, Randy Lee and JoAnn Dotson of Helena, Ricky Dean and Beth Dotson of Lakeside, Russell Allen and Brenda Dotson of Huntley, Ross Michael and Connie Dotson of Butte, Rodney Lynn and Lecia Dotson of Sandpoint, Idaho; daughters and sons-in-law, Ramona Rae and Pat Dunn of Butte, Mollie Rochelle and Randy Eckert of Vancouver, British Columbia, Marla Renee and Bill Semsak of Butte and Betty Ann and Mark Jemmings of Butte. Seventeen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren survive as well as his brothers and sisters and their spouses, Barney and Gail McKnight of Sidney, Mildred and Bill Gladowski of Klamath Falls, Ore., Jack and Minnie Dotson of Butte, Dale and Pat Dotson of Billings, Doris Dotson of Ennis, Delores and Gene Levno of Townsend, Larry and Fy Dotson of Libby, Lorry Dotson of Libby, Minnie and David Kruger of Fort Collins, Colo., and Milton Dotson of Ennis. Besides his first wife, he was also preceded in death by his parents; brother, George Dotson; sister, Mary Keller; and grandson, Dean Allen Lewis. Ray's remains are in Wayrynen-Richards Funeral Home, where friends may call beginning at 5 p.m. Thursday. Military honors will be accorded at 8 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in Gold Hill Lutheran Church with the Rev. Michael Borge officiating. Cremation will follow.
