Mr. Ludwig was born April 10, 1896 to Mr. and Mrs. Michael Albert Ludwig who are now deceased. He was married to Miss Irma Peterson who died a few years later. Read More	RAYMOND LUDWIG, WORLD WAR I VETERAN, DIES (veteran) Raymond Ludwig, 58, passed away early Monday morning at the Veterans Hospital in Omaha following an illness of about a year. Mr. Ludwig was born April 10, 1896 to Mr. and Mrs. Michael Albert Ludwig who are now deceased. He was married to Miss Irma Peterson who died a few years later. A baby and a sister, Mrs. Ray Masters preceded him in death. On October 3, 1934, he married Mrs. Hazel Spangler, who survives her husband. Other survivors are daughters, Mrs. Joan Kerkoff, Germiane Ludwig of Arlington and a step-daughter, Mrs. Ronald Warder of Grey, Iowa; and a stepson, Dr. Lauren Spangler of Arlington; also eight grandchildren; two brothers, Glenn Ludwig of Lansing, Michigan; and a sister, Mrs. Richard (Helen) Mosena of Burlington, Iowa. Mr. Ludwig was a veteran of World War I and served two years in France. He was a Past Commander of the American Legion and a chaplain of the V.F.W. He was a member of the Congregational Church; a fire chief of the Arlington Volunteer Firemen for about 25 years; and was a member of the Nebraska State Volunteer Fireman’s Association as well as a secretary fo the Arlington Cemetery Association. For the past thirty years, he has served as a mail carrier out of the Arlington Post Office. Funeral services will be Thursday at 2:00 at the Reckmeyer Funeral Chapel and at 2:30 at the Congregational Church with Rev. Z. M. Bressler officiating. Burial will be in the Arlington Cemetery. Pallbearers at the services are to be A.A. Hahlbeck, Emil Scheer, Joe Menking, Ed Monroe,, Homer Miller, and Clarence Schafersman. There are to be eight honorary pallbearers at the services. These are Raymond Scheer, Vernon Wager, Dr. Jack Cady, Farnum Franzenburg, Chet Menking, Clyde C. Cook, William Chappelear and Geroge Schoettger.
