Description	:	Raymond D. Ewing, son of Andrew and Margaret Westlake Ewing, was born near Confidence, Iowa on May 9, 1872. He passed away at the Bell Nursing Home in Chariton on August 14, 1955 at the age of 83 years, 3 months and 5 days. He spent his entire life engaged in farming in Wright Township with the exception of one year in Nebraska and the past four years in Chariton after having suffered a stroke. On November 5, 1893 [in Corydon, Iowa] he was united in marriage to Cora Jane Torr. To this union one son was born.... Read More	Raymond D. He was preceded in death by his wife, Cora, May 16, 1895, also his father and mother. He leaves to mourn his passing one son, Alvin and one grandson, Carrollton of Russell and one granddaughter, Mary Goodell of Humeston, also three great grandchildren, Kay and Teddy Ewing and Dana Goodell and one sister, Nettie of Corydon. One of his greatest enjoyments in life was visiting with friends and relatives, especially during the past four years while he was an invalid. He will long be remembered for his loving kindness by his family and a host of friends. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. fred Dietderich assisted by Rev. Alan York at the Confidence Baptist Church on August 17. Music was furnished by Everett Morlan and Lowell Frame with Mrs. Eva Frame at piano. Flower girls were Mrs. Harry Latham, Mrs. Arwilda Green and Lela Dixon. Pallbearers were Vernon Latham, Allen Dixon, Colan Green, Orval Green, Ed Frame and Homer Frame.
