The life sketch as read at the service follows: Raymond Dale, son of Raymond and Lula Mae Cijs Lindahl, was born on December 18, 1943, at the Greene county hospital and lost his life in a fire which destroyed their home in Coon Rapids on Feb. 7, 1945. His most untimely death came when he had reached the age of one year, one month and nineteen days. Raymond is survived by his parents, his father is now serving in the fifth cavalry in the Philippines, his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Lindahl of Bayard and Brand Cizs of Omaha, several aunts and uncles and many other relatives. Mr. and Mrs. George Hupp of Coon Rapids are the child's grandparents. Raymond was baptized in St. Patrick's church in Omaha. In a tragic fire at the east edge of town here about 10 o'clock Wednesday morning Dale Lindahl, 14 months old son of Pvt. and Mrs. Raymond Lindahl, lost his life in the flames and smoke. Mrs. Lindahl and Dale had returned from Omaha on the early morning train and she was up town doing some shopping while her sister, Mrs. Clifton Lindahl, was at home with the baby. Mrs. Clifton Lindahl was asleep in bed and when she awoke found the small two-room temporary house full of smoke and flame. She was unsuccessful In locating the baby and ran from the house seeking help after suffering many burns. The fire department responded to the alarm promptly and Chief Scott put on a gas mask and brought the child from the burning building. It was taken at once to Dr. Johnson's office but apparently was dead before carried out of the fire and smoke, The house was a small temporary structure covered with wind and fire resistant paper and when the blaze of unknown origin, started became a virtual stove. The dead baby's father is a soldier with General MacArthur's forces in the Philippines.
