A visitation will be from 6:00-8:00PM Tuesday evening at Forest Lawn West Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 11:00AM Wednesday, November 27th at Covenant United Methodist Church, 6824 Tuckaseege Rd. Charlotte. Interment will be at 1:30PM Wednesday following the service at Oakdale Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Clover, SC. Mr. Crawford was born in Clover, SC son of the late Raymond Stevenson and Edith McCarter Crawford. He was a member of Covenant UMC, Joy Sunday School Class, served in the US Marines during the Korean War, was a 50 year member and past master of Phalanx Masonic Lodge #1, member of Scottish Rite Bodies, 50 year member of Oasis Temple of The Shrine, member of the Royal Order of Jesters and retired from the US Postal Service after 36 years. Surviving is his wife of 41 years, Helen G. Crawford Children, Kathy Threatt (Vance) of Charlotte, Spencer Grigg (Teresa) of Gastonia, NC, and Kelly Grigg of Charlotte, Nine grandchildren, Jason, Hallie, Jared, Jesse, John, Jacob, Rebekah, Janna and Colton Brothers, Ed Crawford (Dorothy) of Grover Hill, Ohio, Jerry Crawford (Fran) of Tuckaseegee, NC, and Rooney Crawford of Greenville, SC and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Colleen Falls Crawford, brothers, Elmer and Mitchell Crawford, sister-in-laws, Charlotte and Gail Crawford. Grandchildren will be pallbearers and the Oasis Patrol will be honorary. Memorials may be made to Covenant UMC, 6824 Tuckaseege Rd. Charlotte, NC 28214 or to the Oasis Shriners Hospital, & Oasis Temple, 604 Doug Mayes Blvd.
